Jura E8 comes in three decent colors, Piano Black, Piano White, and Piano chrome. Any of these will add a luxurious look to your kitchen.

A modern TFT display with a button on the front of Jura makes the operation modish and incredibly simple. The 2.8″ color display is quite gorgeous, although it is not a touch screen (if you love a touch screen, go for Jura S8) 6 multi-function buttons easily control the machine by the screen’s side. 

It had four screens with different drink options when I first got it. First few days, I had to search for and set the drinks according to my mom’s and my taste. A nuisance but easily livable. The surprise is that now, Jura has set our preference on its first screen. That’s cool!

What’s more, this can be done by going to the ‘’product setting’’ and pressing a drink button for 2 seconds.

When we talk about the size, Jura E8, with the dimensions of 17.6″ D x 11 “W x 13.8 “H, is a little bit spacious, as it’s a reasonably large appliance, and it could be too large if your kitchen is small.so, if you don’t have enough large counter, you should consider JURA ENA8.

It allows up to a 10oz cup of coffee for brewing, furthermore,  its TWO Spouts make brewing easy. I like dual spouts; one offers black coffee like espresso and ristretto, and the other is for milk-based drinks. You can use different mugs as it’s adjustable.

Another Feasible feature of E8 is its easy-to-remove water reservoir with a handle that helps you to place it back into the machine. The thing that makes this machine a little bit sizeable is its water tank with a capacity of 64oz, which is not small-scale, though. 

Equally important, this coffee machine has a wonderful self-cleaning system which almost all the best Jura Coffee machines come with. 

The water tank has a reusable ClEARYL Smart filter that is fitted with the Intelligent Water System (I.W.S) This I.W.S makes the machine smart enough to be able to inform you quickly 

when to replace the filter and whether it’s fitted in the right position or not?

Fun Fact, Remember, this machine takes a lot of water! It cleans and rinses, so get ready to fill it daily for better maintenance. Only fill the water tank with fresh, cold water.

Furthermore, the Jure E8 espresso machine has a high grind quality and a professional aroma grinder to unfold the flavors. Jura automatically grinds whole beans and freshly brews each cup for optimum flavor and aroma.

Let’s not forget! If you did not fill the machine with a sufficient amount of ground coffee, ‘Not enough ground coffee’ is displayed and the E8 stops the operation. So, fill it well.

Brewing Process with Something New

Jura E8 has the edge of the “Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System” (IPBAS) to detect the amount of your coffee and automatically pass out the right quantity of water to make your coffee more vital and desirable. 

The Innovative Jura has further developed a brewing system to improve the specialty range. The Plus Extraction Process (P.E.P) optimizes the extraction time that allows the flavor of coffee to grow fully by forcing the hot water through the coffee at short intervals.

I remember I was a bit skeptical about the result of this somewhat long brewing process, but it made me happy when I had a rich texture that I couldn’t get with other automatic espresso machines. That’s why I’m here with an amazing Jura E8 review. 

Let’s Be honest!

E8 comes with a single thermoblock heating system which can make you a bit annoyed when you are in a quiet hurry, as switching between brewing and steaming takes some time. Though it’s not a too long time, being pricy, the machine should have a dual heating system.

The Jura E8 includes a professional aroma G3 grinder. This built-in steel burr grinder has the capacity of 16g beans in one grind cycle. It means you can get two cups of coffee or a double espresso after a single grind cycle, which is rare in standard machines.

Instead of opening the bean hopper to reach the grinder that you do with other super-automatic espresso machines, now you access it through a dial behind the flap that locks in its place.

 The grinder of  E8 has 6 settings on the bottom side and you can adjust the grinder on a continuous scale to suit the degree of roast of your coffee.

Milk Frothing, Why does Jura know for it?

Having a professional fine foam frother, Your E8 creates fine, creamy, feather-light milk foam with perfect consistency. The most important requirement for frothing milk is a milk temperature of 4–8 °C.

You should note that Jura has updated its HP3( Milk Pipe with Stainless steel casing ).In previous versions, you could manually customize the amount of foam via a dial-on frother. Jura calls it Professional Fine Foam Technology.

With the updated version, E8 has a fully automated system in which every drink is pre-programmed according to its specialties.

What about the foamer? well, it has two chambers, one to aerate the milk and the other to froth it again. The second chamber allows you to choose fine froth for a delicious latte or airy for a cappuccino. It also allows you to create unfrothed milk or change its temperature.

Besides this, there comes a flexible silicon hose to froth the milk. For proper use, you must attach one side to the frother and the other to the milk mug.

Coffee Drink Quality

The new E8 is jam-packed with the latest technology and features, including a new operating concept and product settings. The position of drinks on the screen can be adapted, and their names can be displayed. 

This highly successful machine has also added additional hidden features, such as the extra shot function and one-touch milk system cleaning. 

The E8 has a new professional aroma grinder. It grinds the beans precisely and is twice as fast as conventional grinders, yet it preserves all the delicious aromas of the coffee beans; the pulse extraction process P.E.P ensures the optimum extraction time for shot black coffees such as espresso and ristretto. The brewing unit is the heart of a fully automatic coffee machine; E8 has created the eighth-generation brewing unit with added holes to maximize water flow throughout the coffee grounds at multiple levels.

How I tested Jura E8 by Making Flat White with an Extra Shot

I recently had the opportunity to test the Jura E8 espresso machine and was thoroughly impressed. I was specifically interested in trying to make a flat white with an extra shot, and I have to say that the E8 did not disappoint.

From the moment I took the first glance at E8, I was struck by its design’s quality and attention to detail. Let’s check whether it only looks luxurious or gives a perfect shot.

Let’s do it!

To start, I filled the water tank and the bean hopper with my favorite coffee beans. The E8 has a built-in burr grinder, so I was able to adjust the grind size to my desired setting. The machine also has a quick heating time, so it started brewing within minutes.

I selected the flat white option and added an extra shot, and the E8 did the rest. The machine automatically dispensed the perfect amount of milk and frothed it to a creamy texture. The coffee itself was rich and full-bodied, with a delicious crema on top.

Honestly-I was especially impressed with how easy it was to make the flat white. And, of course, the added extra shot made the flat white even more satisfying.

How to Program jura E8?

Now, I’m going to tell you how to program Jura E8 Espresso Machine on flat white with an extra shot? so, first of all, search flat white drink on the screen, then press and hold the button until the menu comes up for settings. 

Then go into the “product setting” to choose the strength of coffee, I like a little bit stronger. Then press the “ top button” and moved to the next screen to increase the volume to 100 ml because the machine will actually grind, tamper, and, brew twice which will give  50 ml in each shot. 

Going to the next screen, choose a little bit high temperature, and the amount of foam. On this machine, 8 to 10 sec of milk foam works best for a flat white, now hit the “save button”.

Add Extra Shot

simply go to the “cog wheel” press and hold, press extra shot, and there come drink options go to the flat white and you’ll see the little symbol of the extra bean there, just press and wait. Jura E8 is preparing your cup of coffee.

Maintenance is the Key Feature in the Jura E8 Review

Jura automatically rinses itself with hot water before brewing each cup of coffee, which prevents coffee residue from spoiling the espresso and keeps the temperature consistent.

Daily maintenance of the machine and hygiene when handling milk, coffee, and water are key to a perfect coffee result in the cup every time. You should therefore change the water daily to maintain the water quality for the perfect taste.

When you use the machine for the first time, Jura will ask about the hardness of the water. So, you have to know the hardness of your water. But if you don’t know, you can find it using a strip supplied by the machine. Your machine will set descaling intervals for better maintenance of the device, based on the hardness of the water.

It’s simple; just use the filtration system of Jura ( CLARIS Smart filter cartridge). This fully automatic espresso machine has intelligent filtration that removes impurities i.e.calcium, chlorine, for better taste and durability of the machine. With the help of modern RFID Technology, E8 uses automatic filter detection, which is super easy and reliable.

Jura S8 and Breville Oracle One Touch can also yield the same results. The only difference between E8 and S8 is of Screen Display. Jura E8 has a TFT display with buttons, while S8 has a larger touchscreen. On the other hand, Breville comes with Portafilter coffee.
